itSlimane Verses

The fashionweek season has closed its big capitals circle and it’s time now for the second round in small but not less interesting cities (we have two major events coming up here – first in Holon then in Tel Aviv).
Recent fashionweek summaries are trying to understand now who won the battle (Obama vs. Romney? No, Slimane vs. Simons).
Although the mixed reviews of his women’s collection and the PR mishap (as it was well described by Mr. Amed in his brave and clear column about Saint Laurent Paris pr behaviour) Hedi Slimane continues to be one of most inspiring men’s fashion designers and his new collection for Saint Laurent Paris doesn’t disappoint.

It will not come as a surprise to any Slimane followers that all models are young and skinny and that the iconic Dior Homme feel is continued. Rock and roll, leather and pleats, thin ties, black and white patterns and excellent coats, all wrapped up in highly polished black and white photography.
Perhaps it is not the newest look, but definitely one you can easily covet. Some pieces we surely need for the coming local fashion weeks.
