Clouds of war are hanging again over the Tel Aviv sky. In this regional turmoil the news from Ireland came about the death of Seamus Heaney. A Nobel laureate and a leading poet of the English-speaking world, Heaney wrote those always relevant words about the power of culture in his poem “Chorus from The Cure at Troy” –

Human beings suffer,
They torture one another,
They get hurt and get hard.
No poem or play or song
Can fully right a wrong
Inflicted and endured.
