Fragile Matters

It’s not the usual step for a a talented musician, a pop star, to open a photography exhibition in a well known contemporary art gallery. But Ivri Lider is an artist who seeks new boundaries while keeping his aesthetic and precise language in every form of art he creates.

This week Lider will open his first solo photography exhibition, titled: “Fragile Matter”, in  Tel Aviv’s renowned Noga Gallery.

Maya Anner, exhibition curator describes in her  text the elements reappearing in Lider’s work: strength, confidence and abundance alongside fragility, hesitancy, and melancholy. Not the usual pop-star glamorous life we consume from the media.

“The tension between his maturity as an artist and the fact that he is now taking his first steps as a photographer is the origin of some of the most interesting aspects in his visual art” says Anner, highlighting his “technical perfection, with a great emphasis on clean frames and symmetry”.
